L'Absinthe has been a bistro for decades, conveniently sited near the Louvre and Tuileries, but since the Michel Rostang group have taken it over and extended it, it has become something of a haute bistro. Still relaxed, still low-key, but with a bit of Manhattan about it as well as Paris. The dishe... Read more

L'Absinthe is great for lovely food at a good price and with a good proximity to other bars to continue onto afterwards.
l'Absinthe is hard to fault. A group of four adults and teens we had a variety of fish, lamb, and beef dishes and all were interesting, delicious, perfectly cooked and beautiful to look at. The staff were friendly and helpful, the terrace great for people-watching, the atmosphere relaxed. The serious chocoholics voted the hot melted chocolate pudding the best chocolate dessert ever - rich but not too sweet and a blend of perfect textures. Not cheap but very good value - booking essential.
L'Absinthe is a very friendly bistro/restaurant and was a real find in Paris, it's location is great and the food delivered as we expected from previous reviews.
a more modern take on french bistro dining with friendly service (that's nice!) and a varied menu - choose carefully as some dishes worked better than others. eg foie gras was superb but came with a puree which didn't quite work
Good food with great service, was very quiet at 8pm on a Sat night.
