Located in the centre of Munich, close to the colourful Viktualienmarkt food market and Marienplatz (the main square), Master´s Home Restaurant and Bar is as buzzing as both. It opened in 1988 in what was a private home, and divides in to two sections - the restaurant and the bar, the latter split into small rooms - the main bar (the original bathroom, with the bath still in it), a bedroom, and a study. Deep leather armchairs, panelled walls, hunting rifles, stuffed animal heads – Master´s Home look is very much ‘English aristocrat’s pad.’ It’s wonderfully charismatic and fun and attracts all kinds of people, particularly the hip. The singles bar is one of the hottest in town, and many come just to drink (cocktails) and flirt and dance with the lovely - and lively – young staff. If all that wasn’t enough reason to want to go to Master´s Home Restaurant and Bar, it also does something cool with the food. The fact that it’s Italian is safe. But what’s less so is ditching a formal menu and instead offering a series of surprise courses, so you never know what’s coming next.
