Balthazar's Keuken is very central, but not on the main drag so you get lots of locals eating there. The set menu was very good - the veal with mussels was excellent and not a combination I'd ever thought off! The general feel and ambience really makes the place - and at approx EUR 35 for 3 courses, very reasonable. Well recommended.
Balthazar's keuken was the venue for our 16th wedding anniversary during our 3 day visit to Amsterdam. It was excellent. The ambience is great, very cosy and intimate. The food was wonderful and the service excellent. Will definitely go again next visit.
I really enjoyed my meal in Balthazar's Keuken - 3 course set menu for 27 Euro - appetisers, choice of fish (sea bass) or meat (venison osso bucco), panna cotta with dried fruit in marsala. Friendly and attentive staff. Pity it is only open at weekends.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Balthazar's Keuken. The food was delicious - tasty, creative starters (including beetroot salad, some rustic sausages, and a shrimp salad), a melt in the mouth rib eye steak and chips for the main course and a beautiful tarte tatin for dessert. The service was very friendly and faultless. The waiter sat down with each table on arrival to explain the menu, and he made time to recommend to us some places to visit during our trip to Amsterdam. Perfect.
This is a really lovely little place, perfect for a meal with a small group of friends. There were 6 of us and everyone enjoyed their meal. The drinks options were quite limited though.
