De Waaghals - in a lovely neighbourhood and if you're a veggie worth making the short walk out of Amsterdam centre. It was a little bit quiet for us but we were on a hen do !
We had an absolutely lovely meal at De Waaghals. A very low-key atmosphere, and a resident cat combined with excellent service and fantastic food for a wonderful evening. No rushing us off the table either. In general, some place we would definitely recommend to friends.
Two vegetarians and one non-vegetarian found the meal at De Waaghals to be of a high standard. The non-vegetarian found the soup to be particularly enjoyable, they did however feel that the raviolli could have been of a larger portion and this would be there only critisism of the night.
De Waaghals is an excellent vegetarian restaurant providing original food with outstanding value for money. The service & atmosphere is friendly. The interior is spartan but has its own style.
De Waaghals, Amsterdam. Excellent restaurant. Very enjoyable experience. They could easily go upmarket if the wanted to. Wonder of wonders, the menu was not all goat's cheese (which we hate and seems to be all that every body else offers). We really recommend this restaurant.
