We went to 7 Portes on Saturday night - really loved the place. Good food, good wine and really pleasant staff. Definitely recommend if you want a mid-price restaurant in Barcelona!!!

we went to the 7 portes barcelona on recommendation, for my husbands birthday.I must say we had a wonderful evening, the staff were very smart and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. It looks quite expensive, but is very fairly priced, we were nicely surprised by the bill. The paella was to die for and the staff do suggest that ordering for 2 people will serve 3, and so it did. i will be recommending this restaurant to friends who visit barcelona, and we will definately be going back.

If you're making a flying visit to Barcelona and want to really soak up the atmosphere of the city then 7 Portes is definitely worth a visit. Apparently Barcelona's oldest restaurant, it has a sense of style and elegance without being too intimidating. The night we visited it was packed with locals - always a good sign. Food was excellent although the fact they'd run out of one of the specials early on was a bit disappointing. A small gripe however in an otherwise great experience

We had dinner at 7 Portes (two adults, two children) and it was an overall positive experience. It is a traditional restaurant both for the decor and for the food. Service is very efficient, albeit impersonal. Food was good but do not expect excellency. Price reasonable but on the high side. In other words, 7 Portes is a good place to recommend if you want a taste of typical catalan sea food cuisine, not If you are looking for innovative cooking, quite atmosphere and personalized service.

7 Portes, Barcelona...The food and service were impecable. We arrived at 8:00 pm and were immediately seated despite a huge line outside the restaurant. Among the many amazing things about Barcelona, our evening at 7 Portes was a definite highlight not to be missed by anyone who desires great food and knowlegeable service rarely experienced.

Very good restaurant. Felt like an institution. The sevice was excellent and very particular - my husband found this out when trying to serve himself a second helping of paella - it had to be done by the waiter and on to a clean, hot plate! Good traditional food. Would visit again.

7 Portes is a Catalan restaurant situated near Barcelona's old port, popular with tourists and locals alike. Justifiably highly-recommended, a fish-oriented menu with good meat options and a varied wine list, the attentive and friendly staff make this a well-run spot. Monkfish with Dublin bay prawns was delicious as was the mixed fish/meat paella. Definitely a place to return to.

Our dining experience at 7 Portes was excellent! The service was lovely and very professional; the food and wine were both very, very good. Ambiance was lovely, the place is buzzing all the time. Best time to go for dinner is around 21:30, as the piano player will start around 22:30- so perfect background for some after dinner coffee and wine. This is a must go place when in Barcelona!

7 Portes

Charming Barceloneta has been home to fishermen and their families since the 18th century, and for nearly 170 years the nearby 7 Portes has been serving their catch to appreciative diners. Everyone but everyone has been here, Josephine Baker, John Wayne, the King and Queen of Spain, Pele, but the multi-layered mix of clients makes this bustling place really hum. The seven dining rooms are kitted out in pleasingly traditional style, with tiled floors, dark wooden beams, white linens, and walls adorned with posters and caricatures from the past, and served by expert waiters who are part of the show. The dish here is paella, in many forms and different every day, and all the classics: esqueixada, escalivada, bouillabaisse, zarzuela, and crema catalana. Large portions. A beloved landmark.
