We dined at hotel du vin and found the experience on the whole enjoyable. We had attentive service from the sommelier who recommended us a suitable wine. We had rissotto and calves livers to start which were delicious. We followed this with beef and sea bass. The fish and meat was cooked beautifully . The waiter was friendly and efficient to start. We felt that the service unfortunately waned towards the end of the meal. We were left with dessert menus for 20 mins and decided not to order.

Great Place, Nice Food, Appalling Service
Our table for 6 at Hotel Du Van Birmingham was booked for 9:30, but wasn%u219t ready 'till 10:30, the staff were surly and uninterested and had to be prompted to take food and drink orders,Shame because the food, when it came, was good. There are plenty of other restaurants to go to before I go back to HDV.

The service was really bad. It took about an hour for the main course to come and then all of the puddings didn't come at once. Food good when it did arrive and they discounted the meal 25%

We were served a bottle of WIne that was meant to be drunk within five years - it was a 2003 £35 bottle. It was fine though.
