Amber is a hidden delight. The menu is small but select, the service excellent and unobtrusive. Tables are well spaced out to give a perfect private dining expierience. All in all a special place and a special evening
Me & my wife went to Amber the day before Valentines Day. Before the meal we sat in the bar area where we enjoyed a choice from hundreds of whisky's and an educated staff member to help guide us. The staff competence and friendliness match sublime food. From the starter through to dessert, taste and presentation is of the highest standard. In particular the duck on a bed of cabbage and bacon and the Rhubarb and ginger crème brulee. I highly recommend visiting when your next in the area.
Excellent food, great setting, very good value for money.
Only minus was it took 50 mins to be seated.
Expect this to be a one-off, overall a very nice dining experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Amber Restaurant even although we turned out to be the only diners on a wet Edinburgh mid-week night! The staff were excellent, attentive but not over the top. Would definitely recommend and return to this venue.
Amber was as much and experience as a restaurant. The Whiskey experts helped navigate the extensive range and find the right blend to accompany your meal. The food was generous with a good selection of Scottish fare, the restaurant is small which does make the atmosphere a little quiet.
