Located in Edinburgh’s theatre district behind the Traverse Theatre, between the Royal Lyceum and Usher Hall; Zucca is a stylish restaurant serving traditional Italian fare. The carefully thought out menu focuses on locally sourced produce from Edinburgh’s Farmers market. Signature dishes include gnocchi with goat’s cheese, pesto and home-dried tomatoes; bolognese made with buffalo meat sourced from Fife’s Puddledub Farm; lamb stew made with meat sourced from the Hamilton’s farm in the Pentland hills; and a variety of seasonal risottos that reflect the chefs’ creativity. The menu showcases various other dishes ranging from the classical to the most innovative combination all based on a Mediterranean theme. There is also an impressive wine list offering the best each Italian region has to offer.
