Brian Maul at Chardon d'Or Restraurant, thourghly enjoyed our meal with a very good service, pleased also that temperature in the restraurant was improved from previous visits. Would not hesitate to recommend this gastronomic pleasure to all food lovers.

No towels in the gents prevented this from being absolute perfection.

Chardon D'Or is a great business venue where service is friendly but discreet. The food and wine list are always appropriate to impress clients too. I am a frequent visitor.

Went to Brian Maul on the special offer menu which worked out as good value. Food came well prepared and of excellent quality. Only let down was the service which fluctuated depending on which waitress came to the table. We think one was on 'their first day...'

A more expensive restaurant than i would normally book, but it was a treat we thoroughly enjoyed, a lovely NYE meal. Food, wine and service was excellent. The setting of the restaurant was also great even down to the lighting. Even Brain Maule himself said a quick hello to each table and presented some jars of goodies for each table. Highly recommended.

First visit to Brian Maule at Chardon d'Or and wasn't disappointed. Meal and wine were excellent and service too - very attentive and friendly. Expensive, but worth it for a special treat. Lilies throughout restaurant were a nice touch. Only minor downside I would say is the toilets - clean and tidy, but not quite in the same league as the rest of the restaurant, but this certainly didn't spoil our night. Will return again and hoping to try pre-theatre next as it has had good reviews.

Maybe I had heard too many good things about Brian Maule or maybe Valentine's day is a bad day to dine out, but quite frankly I was disappointed. The meal was fine, but I wasn't blown away. The restaurant wasn't very intimate. The service was fantastic, but I wondered if it was just to get the table ready for the next service. The price of the meal was just less than going to the Witchery and I know what I'd prefer.

Brian Maule at Chardon d'Or Restaurant

Award-winning haute cuisine in a charming, relaxed restaurant with superb ingredients and attentive staff, what could be better? Brian Maule, the chef-owner, is only in his mid-thirties, but spent years as Head Chef at the Roux brothers famous and starry Le Gavroche in London. Now he's running his own show, you won't want to miss the excitement of Olympic-level cooking. Set in a renovated Victorian building just off handsome Blythswood Square, the decor is slightly unbuttoned formal in bone and neutrals, with well-spaced tables. Fine country French dishes might include starter of ragout of scallops, penne pasta and fennel in light cream sauce, main course of supreme of Cannette duck with braised salad and peppered jus, and dessert of vanilla flavoured creme brulee. Interesting wine list.Tables booked at 6pm - 6:30pm will need to be off their tables by 8:15pm
