The Gate restaurant in the Merchant City of Glasgow understands that sometimes you need the culinary equivalent of your duvet. This casual, friendly favourite starts pulling you into the relaxation zone with slouchy couches and comfortable furnishings so you can kick back and enjoy an extensive bar and menu that focuses on comforting classics. Sandwiches like chicken with Thai green mayo and peppers or even a classic carbonara pasta suits those with a lighter appetite, whereas bigger mains such as Toulouse sausages and mash with caramelized red onion gravy or one of their range of creative burgers is sure to stop any angry tummy-rumblings.
