Excellent food, polite (tho lacklustre) service, interesting (if ridiculously overpriced) wine collection, but, given the price, they really need to replace their paper tablecloths with real linen!
Once again Abingdon Road excelled itself in service, ambiance and value for money. The ravioli starter was absolutely delicious, as was the lamb main course. My fellow diners, all of whom had not visisted this restaurant made a note of the address and telephone number as they all felt that they would like to visit again on another occasion.
The set menu was good value, but we were surprised to find the necessary side veg was then an extra
My friends and I dined at The Abingdon in Kensington last night following a recommendation from a colleague. What a delightful experience! The food and wine were delicious and the service was wonderful - such friendly and welcoming staff. The ambience was warm and inviting and we were lucky to have one of the booths which I would highly recommend - so comfortable! I can't wait to go back. It's not the cheapest place to eat in London but for the whole experience was divine!
11 Abingdon Road provided a generally very pleasant experience. The set menu was extremely good value for money, with a more than acceptable smoked trout salad to start, and a hearty and well-flavoured slow-cooked belly of pork on white beans and chorizo accompaniment. The vanilla cheesecake and rhubarb purée dessert was fine if not spectacular. The range of wine available by the glass was restricted, but after a little persuasion they allowed me to enjoy a good glass of Cahors. Good service.
