Conveniently located for a business breakfast in central Manchester. What you would expect of a brasserie attached to a hotel .. lacks atmosphere. However not a bad choice in terms of function. Ther are worse places and there are better places ... reasonably good value for money.

Having dined here last year using our Hi-Life discount we knew the restaurant would be fairly quiet, which for me was very relaxing. The starters were excellent however, our main courses of chicken and lamb were in need of more seasoning. This was compensated for by the great desserts. The waiter was very attentive without being too overbearing. Using the 50% Toptable discount made this a very good meal at excellent value. We will, beyond doubt be dining at The Brasserie on Portland again

I found the food and service at the Brasserie on Portland to be very good. I had black pudding with poached egg & bacon for starter and smoked salmon risotto for the main course, both tasted very nice. However, I marked the value for money down based on full price - though it was good value at the 50% discount that we got from booking with TopTable.

We went to the Basserie on Portland on Monday evening, there were only two other tables taken ,so not much atmosphere, though us being a party of 8 this did not matter. The services was brilliant we were really looked after , I can truely say my main meal was the best I have ever had, and the rest of the party were very impressed.We will certainly be going back soon.

The food at the Brasserie on Portland was nice enough just no atmosphere as the place was empty. Pity as they are trying really hard.

Brasserie on Portland was a really quiet restaurant but food and service were first class. Would certainly go back.
