Vic Bergeron opened his first legendary restaurant in 1934 and it quickly made Trader Vic’s a cultural icon. He was the first to import Euro-Asian-Polynesian cuisine to the United States and was the inventor of the original Mai Tai. In addition to the Mai Tai Trader Vic’s has also introduced over 50 different themed drinks including shared “communal” drinks like a Scorpion Bowl for Four, a Tiki Bowl for Two, or a Rum Barrel full of rum and fresh fruit juices, and many other exotic drinks that have made Trader Vic's famous throughout the world in such locations as Shanghai, London, Beverly Hills, Berlin, Amman, and Tokyo.
